Volunteers Make A Difference

By sharing your time, talent, and energy, you can make a difference in the lives of the families being served by our charity.

Volunteering as a group is a great way for businesses and community organizations to get involved. You can donate your time regularly or on a project-by-project basis – whatever works best for you.

RMHC Morgantown loves working with groups – church groups, school groups, Boy Scout/Girl Scout Troops, service organizations, collegiate athletes, collegiate sororities and fraternities etc. If you are looking for a rewarding group service experience, contact Aqsa Naeem, Volunteer Coordinator, at 304-322-2073.

Please note that all volunteers must be 18 years or older, or accompanied by an adult. Anyone volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House is required to sign the following release form: RMHC Release Form. For an accessible version of this PDF, please contact 412-246-1104.

Prepare a Meal

Fewer experiences are more heartwarming and enjoyable than cooking a meal together. When you prepare a meal at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Morgantown, you’re also providing an opportunity for our families to come together and experience a sense of ‘home’.

We offer the opportunity for you to cook a meal for our families any day of the week and ease their burden of having to be in the kitchen instead of their child’s bedside. This is an ideal volunteer experience for a small group of 5-7 people to cook breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner.

The actual number of people attending the meal varies greatly even though the House is usually full. This is due to a number of factors, none of which are predictable. Not all families will be able to make it to the House in time for your serving, but they will be searching for leftovers when they return. At times, families will prepare to-go plates for children in isolation. Rest assured that whether the food is eaten in the kitchen at the time of the meal, carried away, or warmed up for leftovers later on, it will be eaten and is very much appreciated.

For health and safety reasons, all meals must be prepared on site in our kitchen, in an industrial level kitchen, or by a restaurant.

To schedule cooking a meal, please call Aqsa Naeem, Volunteer Coordinator, at  304-322-2073.

Request a Speaker

Our staff loves the opportunity to make presentations to schools, clubs, and groups. Most presentations last approximately 20 to 30 minutes, are suitable for all ages, and can be tailored to your specific needs.

The typical presentation is a unique way to learn about how the charity keeps families close. The 20-minute presentation consists of helpful and insightful information about our mission, our achievements, and our vision for the coming years.

We also provide information about how to get involved and how to help our charity through donation collection, volunteering, and recycling programs.

To request a speaker, simply contact Sierra Lilac, Development Associate, 304-322-2072.
